The 5 Elements and 5 Treasures

The 5 elemental organ systems are also connected to each other through their functions with the 5 Treasures. I will get into the 5 Treasures in details in a later post.

The 5 Treasures

The 5 treasure are blood (血), essence/Jing (精), spirit/mind/Shen (神), body fluid (津液), Qi (氣)

The 5 treasures are governed, transformed, distributed, stored or maintained by the 5 elemental organ systems. Here is the simplified version

Blood (血)- governed by the heart, controlled by spleen Qi, and stored in the liver

Essence or Jing (精)- Stored by the kidney

Spirit, mind or Shen (神)- housed in the heart

Body Fluid (津液)- Distributed by the Lung, transformed and transported by the Spleen, controlled by the Kidney Qi

Qi (氣)- governed by Lung, transformed and transported by the Spleen, maintained by Liver

Here is the 5 elements and how they connect through the 5 treasures
